Sarah Wood – Director and Project Manager

My main focus is to make sure that every client gets the best possible service from start to finish.

Founding “The Middlewoman” as a sole trader in 2002, I aimed to provide a service to those who were busy or didn’t know where to get reliable services to maintain their homes. This decision came as I felt experienced enough to take on the challenge after my experience as a Manager and Educator in the Medical world, along with gaining qualifications in Sociology, Art Photography and Professional Photography.

Working hard over 16 years being a fully licensed building company, developing contacts and understanding what people want and look for, now sees me as director of The Middlewoman and a member of KBDi. My two wonderful son’s, 25 and 27, now call me ‘Middlewoman’ if I don’t respond to Mum!

Prue – Project Manager

Working with an experienced team of builders, trades contractors and suppliers, Prue expertly manages our projects ensuring they are running to schedule, executed to a high standard, and any issues are dealt with promptly.

She has worked within a project lead environment for the past 18 years in Sydney and London, and has a Diploma in Building Studies. Prue also has experience working on commercial and residential projects for a construction head contractor, and a leading global design and architecture firm.

Prue enjoys working with our clients to turn the dreams for their home into a reality. Seeing a project develop from an idea through to a fully completed home for them to live in excites Prue.

Ian Broughton – Builder

Is a fully qualified and licensed builder. He has brought decades of experience and a wealth of tradespeople who have worked with for many years. He worked with his builder father for 20 years, building villa’s, home units, new homes and home extensions/renovations. Ian now specialises in home renovations and extensions here at The Middlewoman.

Ian joined The Middlewoman in 2015 and enjoys the family style of working together as a cohesive team. He’s very passionate about building and gets a lot of satisfaction from producing quality projects for our clients

Riley – Carpenter

Taught under Ian’s watchful and experienced eye, Riley has come through the ranks at The Middlewoman finishing his apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified carpenter.

When he’s not thinking about what new tools he needs …..he’s doing what he loves which is Skateboarding and Surfing!

Eunhai – Interior Designer

Having assisted on projects on a consultant basis with us for over 10 years, Eunhai has finally joined the team in 2021 on a permanent basis as our Interior Designer. 

With 25 years of experience, her knowledge is broad and covers extensive commercial and residential projects across Sydney. She particularly likes to specialise in custom cabinetry for kitchens and household storage.

Linda – Bookkeeper

Married with three sons, Linda has over 20 years of experience as a bookkeeper, working across a variety of businesses, and has been part of the team here since 2015.

The friendly and fun atmosphere, along with the wonderful team of people who also love what they are doing here, make Linda love working at The Middlewoman immensely. Linda feels she can help the company progress and also work with the clients to make the financial side of the work done on their homes easy to understand.

Over the past two years, The Middlewoman has supported The Lami Steelers – which is a rugby team in Fiji made up of local boys from low-socioeconomic areas.

“On behalf of the Lami Steelers Rugby team in Fiji, we would like to thank The Middlewoman company for their support and generosity with sponsoring the team. The money donated has gone towards a new team Jersey including pants and socks, as well as rugby balls and a water dispenser for training. 

The Lami Steelers boys come from a low socio economic area in Suva, Fiji. Many of these boys devote their adolescent years to rugby aspiring to represent Fiji one day. Through the support of The Middlewoman these boys have come to know that there are people that care about them and want them to succeed. These boys are surrounded and involved in alcohol and substance abuse which impacts on their life. Since being sponsored these boys have decreased their involvement in alcohol and substance abuse and have turned their attention to rugby and helping one another as a team. Every day, no matter what the weather is or the time of year, these boys including others in the village gather at their local field and play rugby together. The Lami Steelers Rugby team is starting to mirror a positive light amongst the whole village.

The Lami Steelers rugby team is more than a team but a family of boys that support one another and respect each other. We are truly grateful for the support The Middlewoman has provided, the Lami Steelers boys highly appreciate it.”
